Since 1992, Charles has dedicated his career to the general practice of real estate and commercial litigation and transactions. He has prosecuted and defended various types of civil litigation and appeals in the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey, most recently with an emphasis on representing the interests of cooperative apartment corporations and condominium associations in collection matters, insurance coverage issues, housing court, and other types of commercial, business and real estate litigation. In addition, Charles has conducted hundreds of residential and commercial real estate closings in New York and New Jersey, and especially enjoys working with investors involved in complex transactions.
Articles Editor of the Journal of Human Rights. After graduating from law school in 1991 and working as an associate for a number of years, Charles opened his own law practice in 1996 with offices in New York and New Jersey. During his time as a sole practitioner, Charles was designated “of counsel” to the law offices of Melvin Berfond and Fagenson & Puglisi, where he was real estate counsel to the local union consisting of the traffic agents of the New York City Police Department. Additionally, during his professional career, Charles has also worked as an associate with Sheldon Eisenberger, Siller Wilk, Saadia Shapiro, and Cox Padmore Skolnik & Shakarchy.
Charles lives in New Jersey with his wife, two children, and a very cute dog.
For recreation, Charles enjoys tennis and skiing.
